Spending Ban - Update No.1

on

Hey dolls,

This is the 1st update since my Spending Ban began i.e. 1st January 2013 and only 69 days to go!

I actually am very pleased today, reason being when I started this challenge I was thinking this is going to be one tough one but actually it has not been too hard at all so far and I'm hpoing it will go smooth like that by the end of the challenge.

However, I still have not purchased any single thing of makeup/beauty/skin care product at all and I am really proud of my self to put this SELF BAN on me which was quite necessary. I know these 4 weeks were kind of strange for me yet hard too in terms of SALE, SALE and a lot of SALE I have missed but I know if it will become a habit not to spend all time on un-necessary things it is going to be beneficial for me in a long run ^_^

I'm more on concentrating on things that I need the most rather on getting things which are totally not necessary and need to lay down in my stash for a long time and then going to RIP. I was looking in my stash and I've discovered A LOT of things that I've not used for a long time, some are un-touched even un-opened and oh-hello! those are not PR samples but bought from my own money so I was kind of shocked that how many un-necessary things I've in my stash and I didn't even use or finish them and keep on buying new stuff. I've to confess this is the reason why I need to take this challenge and so far its been going really well.

At the weekend I was home FINALLY with my family and parents means I was not out for shopping like crazy and getting tempted by all those crazy sales going on for new years and in Dubai Shopping Festival. Along with this challenge I might going to start my 90 days fitness challenge soon.

All and all I can say, so far a shopping maniac like me is in under-control and hoping to be same till end.

How are you doing with you Spending Ban?

  4. Mine is going great!
Mine is not a total all out shopping ban, just NEW clothes, and I have been successful thus far! I bought some second hand clothes from the thrift store, but that doesn't count ;)

  10. Hi gorgeous

Glad you have not found it hard! I am the same, I thought this would be terrible and i would really struggle but i havent! I am doing well and feeling guilty about all those silly purchases I made before the ban started! I hope i learn some lessons from doing this ban.

I am looking forward to reading about your fitness mission too - as you know I am on my own fitness mission too and going to the gym to avoid the shops!! xx

  12. Restricting your shopping expenditure has been easy for me :) several times I was able to constrict myself from my crazy shopping sprees. Being a shopaholic is different :D

  13. I applaud you for your strength and conviction of banning yourself. I suspect I should follow your lead... but the mere thought of not looking, not buying... seeing SALES.... and having to ignore them just sends me into withdrawal symptoms. Hi, I'm Petra and I am an addict. LOL
